So why should you consider purchasing a house now, in this economy?  1) Low interest rates.  With banks offering such low interest rates, why wouldn't anyone consider buying now.  Think of the money you will be saving!  2)  Buyer incentives!  RRSP contributions towards you first home have increased from $20,000 to $25,000 per person.  Plus, lending institutions are offering other incentives to buy.  Canada's banks are ranked number one in the world.  Try them out!  3)  Huge selection!  Remember just a couple of years ago when buyers had to take whatever they could find, with no conditions, otherwise they would lose out?  Well today's market has a large inventory, plus buyers have the time to shop around, have a property inspection if they like.  Buy now before the market takes off again and beat the crowd!

We are in a what is referred to as a Buyer's market right now.  Real Estate Boards throughout Alberta are reporting larger amounts of inventory (listings) compared to last year.  Is this a bad thing?  Absolutely not!  As a Buyer, you have a large selection of properties to choose from, you have time to do your homework and make a wise decision.  As a Seller, you need to price your property competitively and show off your property's uniqueness to make it stand out from the crowd.
